Began writing career by creating a poem
dedicated to the Vietnam War, entitled,
"Dear America, If This Is Love, Then There's
No Need For War."
(1967-68)
Editor of Darnell-Cookman Jr. High School
Newspaper Staff.
(1970-71)
President of The Library Council at Stanton
Senior High School.
(1971)
Wrote Senior High School Class Song which was
performed at graduation, entitled, "Seniors
Travel On Much Further."
Written to the tune
of Bridge Over Troubled Water.
(1971-73)
Traveled extensively with the Bethune-Cookman
College Modern Dance Group as Poet Laureate
when the group needed additional time to change.
My performance was for various college programs
and Florida based military sites.
(1973)
Recipient of Bethune-Cookman
College's
`Best Rhymed Poet of the Year Award.'
(1985)
Wrote and recited at the Delta Sigma Theta 1985
Convention a memorial in honor of those killed
in the 1985 Dallas Plane Crash.
(1988-89)
Member of the CSDG Private Line Newspaper staff
for A.T.&T. Communications Engineering Department.
(1989)
Completed final manuscript draft of my first
novel, entitled: `When The Singer Shouts.'
(1989)
Competed in the Ebony Magazine Short Story Award.
Story entitled, `Missy'.
(1990)
Competed in the Ted Turner Awards against 2,500
other entries, with manuscript entitled, `When
The Singer Shouts.'
(1991)
Completed my first Black Cartoon Rap Script.
The
script is entitled, `Life'.
Present
Currently working on several lyric compositions
with various Atlanta based production companies.
